Today, mobile phone maker Micromax's next flagship Android-based smartphone goes official in India, namely the hotly anticipated Canvas 4, which has already seen over 11,000 pre-orders so far.

The launch event is taking place right now, and the specifications list of the device has been already confirmed, minutes before the official unveiling, courtesy of a photo coming from dipak, as AndroidOS notes.

The phone lands on shelves with a 5-inch 720p IPS HD screen, a 1.2GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, and also microSD memory card slot.

Just as previously rumored, the handset features a 13-megapixel photo snapper, a 5MP front camera, a 2000 mAh battery, as well as Google’s Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system loaded on top.

Micromax Canvas 4 sports an 8.9mm thin body, weighs 145 grams, and sports an aluminum frame around it, with a plastic case.
