Unveiled a few weeks ago, Bling 2 Android-based smartphone has just made its debut in India. After the resounding success of Bling 2's predecessor, the Bling Q55, Micromax hopes to achieve the same level of popularity with its successor.

Although the Bling 2 is an Android smartphone, which might suggest a more 'geeky' target, in fact the handset has been specifically designed for the female users.

Besides its obvious 'bling bling' factor, the device features a glossy finish frame made with Swarowski Zirconia.

Furthermore, Bling 2 comes with a white leather carrying case enclosed with a mirror, as well as a special pouch where women can keep their lipsticks or any other cosmetic tool that may fit into the slot.

In addition, the Home button of the phone, as well as the camera on the back are also framed with encrusted Swarowski that makes the phone stand out from afar.

Even though it was built to breath glamour and be carried like a fashion accessory, the Bling 2 is also an excellent communication tool.

Specs-wise, Bling 2 is powered by Google's Android 2.2 Froyo platform and features a 2.8-inch capacitive touchscreen.

Equipped with a 600 Mhz processor, Bling 2 sports a 3-megapixle photo snapper, Wi-Fi connectivity, built-in GPS receiver, Bluetooth and a 3.5mm audio jack.

As the manufacturer states, Bling 2 will be bundled with several application, including MiRoamer- Mobile radio, Saavn- Music on Demand, Mosho- Mobile shopping, Mundu Live TV (1 month free trial) and Whatsapp messenger.

Micromax is also pre-loading its own app store, so users can download and install third-party software. With the Mi-Fi pocket wireless feature, the phone can be turned into a Wi-Fi hotspot while on the go.

Micromax Bling 2 is on the cheaper side, as the smartphone can be purchased starting today for Rs. 8,999 (about $200).
