14 DAY TRIAL // Intex was among the first Indian OEMs to announce the upcoming availability of an Android smartphone equipped with a true octa-core processor, the so-called Aqua Octa.
However, it looks like Micromax is about to debut a similar smartphone in India, though we're still waiting for an official announcement.
MMXNewscaster has just been tipped on the upcoming release of the unannounced Micromax A350, which has yet to be confirmed by the Indian company.
Although we should take it with a grain of salt, MMXNewscaster's tips proved to be accurate most of the time, so unless Micromax doesn't decide to change the A350's specs in the last minute the leaked specs should be final.
We've also noticed a slight mistake, which might be a typo in fact. The leaked photo taken from an internal Micromax document mentions the A350 is powered by an “octo core” processor, which is not entirely correct.
Anyway, we believe this might have just been a typo, which will definitely be corrected once the official announcement arrives.
Until then, let's see what's really inside the unofficial Micromax A350 smartphone. Well, according to the leaked document, the device should be equipped with a 1.7 GHz octa-core processor, most likely provided by MediaTek.
In addition, the smartphone will be packed with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. There's no mention microSD card slot, but we suspect A350's users will be able to further expand storage via microSD memory cards.
Another strong point of the Micromax A350 would be the 5-inch full HD (1080p) capacitive touchscreen display, as well as the 16-megapixel rear-facing photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.
The bad news is the A350 will ship with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box. If the information proves accurate, we assume Micromax would want to offer an Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade soon after release. Stay tuned for more updates on this one.
