Mobile phone maker Micromax has made available for purchase a new entry-level Android handset in India, namely the Micromax A34, which arrives on the market with a 3.95-inch (320 x 480 pixels) screen.

The new mobile phone can already be seen on this page on the website of online retailer Flipkart, where it is listed with a price tag of Rs. 4399 ($72 / €54) attached to it.

Just as its price tag suggests, the new smartphone features entry-level hardware and capabilities, starting with a 1GHz processor and going all the way to the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system that has been loaded on it.

Micromax A34, however, still packs support for two SIM cards, which should make it an appealing option to those looking for this functionality inside a cheap device.

In fact, the Dual-SIM (GSM + GSM) capability of the device is paired with Dual Standby so that users can receive phone calls on both SIM cards at the same time.

The specifications list of the Android 2.3.5-powered smartphone also includes 256MB of RAM, a 512MB ROM and 165MB of user-accessible internal memory, along with a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage.

Furthermore, the handset packs 2G (EDGE) connectivity, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, FM Radio, a micro USB port, 3.5mm audio jack and a 1350 mAh battery that can deliver up to 4 hours of talk time, or up to 120 hours of standby.

On the back, the Micromax A34 sports a 2-megapixel photo snapper with LED flash and video recording capabilities, a recent article on fonearena notes. No front camera has been included on this device, although Micromax did release the 4-inch A35 Blot earlier this year with such functionality.

As can be seen on the aforementioned page on Flipkat’s website, the handset is available for purchase all dressed up in Black.
