Indian mobile phone maker Micromax is reportedly gearing up for the release of a smartphone powered by a hexa-core processor, one that might land on shelves under the name of Micromax A190, and info on its hardware specs is now available.

Last week, XOLO made a similar move with the introduction of Play 6X-1000, and it appears that Microsoft does not want to be left behind. However, the two devices might not arrive on the market outside India.

The new Micromax smartphone hasn’t been confirmed as of now, but a recent tweet coming from @MMXNewscaster allows us to make an idea of what it would have to offer when formally introduced.

Unfortunately, the upcoming Micromax handset is known only as A190 at the moment, but its full name might be another one, a recent article on micromaxcanvas.co.in reads.

The smartphone will be the very first device from the company to sport a hexa-core processor, though it will not be the first Micromax handset to feature a MediaTek CPU (the company has already announced octa-core products).

According to the available details on its hardware specs, the upcoming phone will hit shelves with a 6.3-inch touchscreen display of unknown resolution, though it would’t come as a surprise if it was a full HD panel, that’s for sure.

Moreover, the smartphone is said to be powered by the MediaTek MT6591 chipset, which will be paired with 2GB of RAM, thus ensuring appealing performance capabilities.

The specs list of the yet unannounced handset also includes 16GB of internal memory, most probably accompanied by a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes.

On the back, the Micromax A190 is said to feature a 13-megapixel camera, which should be able to record videos in full HD resolution. Moreover, the handset will sport a 5MP front camera, great for making video calls while on the go and for snapping selfies.

At the same time, the new phone is said to run under the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system right from the start, most probably with a series of exclusive features and applications coming from the handset vendor loaded on top.

Micromax is currently the second most popular mobile phone maker in India, and is also one of the top handset vendors worldwide, which explains why the company is working toward expanding its lineup with more appealing handsets.

Unfortunately, no specific info on when the new hexa-core Micromax A190 might go official has been provided as of now, and details on its possible pricing are missing as well, though chances are that all will be unveiled soon, so stay tuned for more on the matter.
