The launch of the British web site that showcases Walt Disney's games, films, music and social networking assets will be launched on Monday, and it almost follows the footstep of its US brother that saw the light earlier this year. It's an expanding business for the Entertainment group, as similar web sites will be made available throughout Europe in the near future, as well.

"We are looking to the continent not surprisingly so we will be looking to France, Italy, Germany and Spain for our next rollouts," said Cindy Rose, who heads Disney's Internet arm in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, as the group unveiled details of the new Web offering on Thursday, at a briefing in London.

The target audience for the site is, of course, the young, who will be helped by the heart of the site, a feature called Disney Extreme Digital, to customize multi-media content simultaneously with watching and sharing videos, messages, music and games. Gavin Haycock, of Reuters, informs us that "Online parental protection measures are wrapped into the site as well as functionality that prompts children to use Disney-proposed online chat phrases that have an emphasis on being polite while also using language that can reflect whether the user is looking at content focused on pirates or princesses."

I personally can't wait for the site to come and blow Europe's almost not existing market in this field. I still remember watching the Disney movies and shows when I was little, and I remember seeing there Britney and Justin if I'm correct. While I can't say that I'm happy for somebody else that will be thrilled by the news, the inner child in me surely reverts to that time when Disney meant no time-space continuum, but a halt in everything mundane and the stuff dreams were made of.
