Mick Jagger is speaking out to set the record straight on allegations made by Katy Perry earlier this week, during a radio interview in Australia, which you can check out in the video embedded below.

Speaking of the kind of work she did when she was coming up in the industry, Katy said she did a lot of “behind the scenes” work, including singing backing vocals for the likes of Jagger and Miley Cyrus.

“I actually went to dinner with him [Mick Jagger], one time, and he hit on me when I was like 18!” she then dropped the bomb laughing. She explained that turning down a legend like Jagger was possible by bringing a friend with her on the date, and having her sleep with him instead.

It might have been a little joke, but Jagger isn’t amused. He released a statement to TMZ saying that he “categorically denies” ever hitting on Katy and adding, “perhaps she is confusing him with someone else.” Ouch.

Katy is yet to address Jagger’s denial but one thing is certain: she can’t claim her words were taken out of context because there’s video of her saying them.
