Video of her slip of the tongue is above.
She immediately realized her mistake and tried to fix it by saying, “you know, when you've got the husband who's president, it can feel a little single, but he's there.”
She also added that she wasn’t “single,” only a “busy working mom.”
Useless to say, now that this was captured on camera, it’s already being used as argument for various conspiracy theories.
Two of the most circulated are that either Barack and Michelle are separated and only keep up appearances by posing as a couple, or they were never married in the first place, at least not legally.
My money’s on that this was just an honest to God slip of the tongue that probably doesn’t mean anything, but I’d love to hear your thoughts on it. Check out the video and drop me a line in the comments section.
