First Lady of the United States is not amused, the Internet is having a blast

The Presidential Inauguration 2013 was the perfect occasion for a study in body language, the Internet agrees. Take for example the First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, and her massive eye roll during the Inauguration Day luncheon.

Though she seems to be rolling at her eyes at what is being said on the microphone, the Huffington Post claims that she was actually doing so at what White House Speaker John Boehner had said.

“President Barack Obama leaned behind his wife to talk with Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-Ohio), who was seated to the First Lady's left. When Boehner replied, he tapped Michelle Obama as if to see if she agreed with his response. After a brief back-and-forth between the president and the speaker, the look the first lady gave suggested that she didn't,” the e-zine writes.

Thus, a “historical moment in shade throwing” was born, as voices online have dubbed it.

It could be that Mrs. Obama’s eye roll was innocent but, as it happens, the Internet doesn’t really care much about that when it’s got such an awesome meme on its hands.
