In November last year, the Salahis made international headlines after it emerged that they may have crashed a White House party. They later claimed they had an invitation to the dinner party, therefore the moniker “White House party crashers” term was defamatory and should not be used in connection to them. It’s precisely this that stands at the core of a new dispute, this time between Michaele Salahi and Whoopi Goldberg, The Daily Beast reveals.

Salahi made a cameo on “The Real Housewives of D.C.” and consequently agreed to appear on The View on the “Reality Check” section of the morning talk show. At one point, as she and the other ladies from the reality show are talking about a dispute that took place while shooting a scene, Whoopi comes out from backstage, says something inaudible and taps Salahi on the arm (see at the 1:50 mark in the video below for it). That was only the beginning because after the show was done, the star unleashed a very aggressive verbal assault on Salahi and even hit her, Salahi claims.

“Then, after the show finished taping, Goldberg, according to Bloom, burst into a room Michaele was sitting in with Tareq and screamed: ‘I didn’t [expletive]-ing hit you! Did you say I [expletive]-ing hit you?’ ‘She was screaming and dropping the F-bomb many, many times,’ Bloom told The Daily Beast exclusively. Tareq apparently began filming the verbal altercation with his BlackBerry, though Bloom said he only caught ‘the last few seconds’,” the Beast writes.

“According to Bloom, The View had been specifically instructed by Bravo (which produces The Real Housewives) not to refer to the Salahis as ‘White House party crashers,’ because, she said, ‘I consider that to be false and defamatory. They did not crash the party. They were invited to the party. They have emails from the White House listing them as invited to the party.’ Mrs. Salahi, therefore, was upset when the show’s hosts involved the ‘party crasher’ term, all the more so when Shepherd said, ‘You guys should be in jail,’ and, according to Bloom, an applause light went on, and ‘the audience was all made to laugh’,” the same report says.

After the show, as word that Whoopi had “assaulted” her started to spread in the media, Salahi announced that she’s make the recording mentioned above public to show that she’s not seeking attention by causing a controversy for no reason. A spokesperson for ABC, though, says that there was no assault to speak of and that Whoopi certainly did not “hit” Salahi.
