14 DAY TRIAL // No matter how much Michael Lohan, the estranged father of Lindsay Lohan, tries, he still seems unable to clear his public image. Whether he associates with the likes of Jon Gosselin and then with his former lover, Star reporter Kate Major, or whether he gets repeatedly arrested for violating restraining orders, Mr. Lohan seems like a trouble magnet, TMZ says.
Lohan was arrested again the other day, also for violating a restraining order issued in the name of one of his former girlfriends, who asked the court to bar him from ever making contact with her, even by phone. This is the same order that got Lohan in trouble a little over a month ago as well – and, for some reason or another, he certainly seems unable to control himself when it comes to respecting the judge’s orders, TMZ says.
“Michael Lohan was arrested again today after another incident involving his ex girlfriend Erin Muller – and once again, the phone is the central issue. According to Erin’s attorney Bryan Konoski, Lindsay Lohan’s father allegedly called Erin at work on January 21 – a violation of Erin’s restraining order against him,” TMZ writes. Admittedly, Konoski asked for the protection granted by a restraining order after Lohan got physically violent towards her.
“Nassau County Police Department tells TMZ Michael was arrested today and booked for criminal contempt. If this sounds familiar... Michael was arrested back in December for the exact same thing,” the same media outlet informs. A court date has been set for February 25, when Mr. Lohan will have to respond to charges of criminal contempt. When this went to press, neither Michael Lohan nor his spokesperson was immediately available for comment.
For those not in the know, Mr. Lohan has a long history of getting in trouble with the law, having already served a two and a half-year sentence for various charges, which also included probation violation and DUI. According to Dina Lohan, Lindsay’s mother and Michael’s former wife, he’s also of a very violent disposition, which would explain why ex Konoski no longer wants anything to do with him.
