Former basketball superstar Michael Jordan and his wife Yvette Prieto are the proud parents of two healthy identical twin daughters. The news comes via E online.

The two girls were born on Sunday, February 9 in West Palm Beach, according to an official statement released by the representatives of the former Chicago Bulls player.

“Michael and Yvette Jordan are thrilled to announce that their identical twin daughters, Victoria and Ysabel, were born Sunday, February 9, 2014 in West Palm Beach, Florida. Yvette and the babies are doing well and the family is overjoyed at their arrival,” said the statement.

News of the double pregnancy first came out last year, in November, which is pretty late in the process. This will be the first children that Jordan and Yvette have together, although this is not the first time the basketball player becomes a father.

Apart from his new daughters with the young Cuban model, Jordan also has children with ex-wife Juanita Vanoy.

After getting married in a lavish ceremony last year on April 27, the happy couple didn't waste too much time following their nuptials in getting pregnant. This might have something to do with the fact that Jordan and Yvette had been going out for five years prior to getting married in 2013.

The wedding ceremony was a big celebrity affair which saw the participation of some 500 guests, who had to be brought in on tour buses. And if you think that's a lot of people, wait until you hear how many got invited to the actual party, not just the church procession.

In all, it's estimated that 1,500 people were invited to celebrate the joyous occasion ad the Bears Club in Jupiter, California. The only other celebrity who came beat that staggering number is probably rapper Kanye and his famous fiancée Kim Kardashian.

We'll have to wait and see if the baptism of Jordan's twin daughters is going to be at least as big an affair as the wedding.
