The Michael Jackson's trial cost the Santa Barbara County taxpayers about $2,7 million, according to Friday news reports. The money were spent for the police officers stationed at the California courthouse during the trial and the crowd control.
The cost doesn't include prosecution, investigative and grand jury expenses, according to Jette Christiansson, business manager for the County Executive Office.
On Thursday, Superior Court Judge Rodney Melville has ruled that the District Attorney's Office and Sheriff's Department to return the items seized from Michael Jackson's Neverland ranch during police searches of the property, like pornographic magazines, books and computer hard drives.
"Anything you have seized that was not brought to court and was not contraband, should be returned to Mr Jackson," Superior Court Melville told Santa Barbara County District Attorney Tom Sneddon.
The items that the pop star will not get back will be the syringes and prescription drugs that were found at Neverland but were not prescribed to him.
