Michael Jackson’s Children to Make Appearance at the Grammys

Over the weekend, the music industry will be celebrating the best of the best with the 2010 Grammy Awards. Clearly, such a thing would not be possible without paying homage to one of the greatest entertainers to have ever lived, the King of Pop himself, Michael Jackson, who passed away in the summer of ‘09. To make the tribute even more spectacular, organizers are also working to get the singer’s three children to be involved in it, E! Online has learned.

Nothing has yet been confirmed, and even granted the children’s legal guardian, their grandmother Katherine Jackson, agrees to this, chances are the appearance will be kept well under wraps as the surprise of the evening. However, the rumor is strong that producers are trying to orchestrate the biggest MJ tribute to date, worthy of a true King, at this year’s Grammy and, as such, his children could not not be part of it.

“A source tells E! News exclusively that Grammy Awards producers have been making a last-minute effort to incorporate in some capacity Michael Jackson’s children – Prince Michael, Paris and Blanket – into Sunday night’s tribute to their late father. The Grammys tribute will feature a 3D mini movie set to Jackson’s ‘Earth Song’ that was going to be featured in his This is It tour,” E! says of the rumored involvement of the three children.

“‘They’ve been working on everything from them singing to just making an appearance,’ the Grammys insider says of the little Jacksons’ possible involvement. […] A source close to the Jackson family tells E! News that, as of Tuesday night, the children ‘might’ be there. The family source confirms that several members of the Jackson family, including father Joe, are scheduled to attend the Grammys. ‘They might go, but Kate [Katherine, their grandmother] is very protective of having them in front of the cameras, so I doubt they will walk the carpet,’ says the source,” the same e-zine further informs.

Nevertheless, even if the Jackson children will not be involved in the tribute to their father, undoubtedly it will turn out to be quite a spectacle and a touching moment. Stars whose presence has been confirmed and who will perform during the awards ceremony include Beyonce and Taylor Swift.
