Six weeks after his body was found unresponsive presumably after being administered an IV drip with the highly powerful anesthetic Propofol, Michael Jackson will finally be laid to rest. The Jackson family has finally come to an understanding as to where they want Michael’s body to rest, and it is the Forest Lawn Memorial Park cemetery in Los Angeles’ Hollywood Hills, a WENN report says.

At this point in time, it is believed Michael’s burial has been held up both because the family was still waiting for the autopsy reports and, implicitly, for the investigation in the cause of death to come to an end, and because the family could not agree on the burial spot. Brother Jermaine, for instance, was very vocal about burying Michael at his former residence, Neverland, but the rest of the family and the neighbors of the estate strongly opposed the idea, saying it would turn it into some sort of Graceland that would disturb the community.

Katherine Jackson, Michael’s mother, on the other hand, did not want her son to return to Neverland, saying that he wouldn’t have wanted that either, especially because of the memories related to the 2005 molestation trial and the ensuing scandal. So, after long arguments and talks, the entire Jackson family came to the agreement that Michael would be buried at Forest Lawn, where his body was also deposited shortly after his death. A time for when the ceremony will take place has not been made public yet, the same WENN report says.

“The word we are getting is the family has at last signed papers that means he will be buried at Forest Lawn Memorial. It’s a famous resting place and lots of famous people are buried there. For a while, Neverland was mentioned. That almost happened but didn’t quite come to fruition and what we are getting today is that the family has signed papers and Michael will be buried at Forest Lawn cemetery. It’s certainly one of those places that you can get into but I’m sure when this news comes out now things will be looked at differently there.” Showbiz writer Ross King told morning show GMTV, as quoted by WENN.

The Jackson family is yet to confirm all of the above but, granted this checks out, chances are they won’t go public with it until the funeral is over to avoid the kind of media frenzy that the public memorial service at Staples Center, also in LA, generated.

they should've put his body at neverland.. it just fits. But i guess it doesn't really matter because it's up to hte family.. I soo wish I was born earlier and then i could've seen him in concerts and at the height of his career. He's so great, ain't he?

The family is afraid of the tabloids who would do anything to get a dead picture of Michael for money. They also need to take precaution of La Toya, when she needs the cash, she could sell out her brother's burial plot. It's unbelievable that she already sold the story of how many punctured marks MJ had just days after his passing. The fans and people around the world all respect Michael Jackson and appreciate his musical talent while in his own land he was betrayed by his trusted people, and the media would do anything to tarnish his legacy. May you R.I.P Michael Jackson. You are legend!
