Michael Jackson thought his legal troubles were over when he was acquitted of child molestation charges late in 2005, but now he's in for a big surprise, delivered by PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals).
The animal rights organization has accused the King of Pop for neglecting his menagerie at the Neverland Ranch when leaving the U.S. after his acquittal.
People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals has written a letter to the US Department Of Agriculture asking for it to investigate conditions at Neverland.
Aerial photos of the ranch allegedly show the animals living in desolation, surrounded by puddles of urine.
"These animals are in enclosures that are completely barren - it looks like a dilapidated roadside zoo," said spokeswoman Lisa Wathne.
"We have heard accusations that employees aren't being paid and that animals aren't being fed or that that food is only available on a day to day basis."
The USDA has been called to investigate, but reportedly will not respond for several months. Jackson's lawyer stated that the pop star had no comment
