Pop star Michael Jackson could not attend a party held at famous Hard Rock Café location, because he was turned away by the restaurant's manager.
Jackson, 47, who made his first public appearance in London, after the molestation trial from June, heard that there was a re-launch party at Hard Rock Cafe and told his publicist to make the arrangements, because he wanted to attend the event.
Jackson's staff came at the restaurant at 10.30 and prepared his arrival. Unfortunately, the superstar came too late and couldn't enter the building, because the place was already too 'packed'.
A source says: "(Jackson's publicist) approved it and sent a message back to Michael's entourage to start the next stage. His security and his management arrived at the restaurant at 10.30 and also gave the thumbs up.
They even found a secret back door for him."
A magazine publicist said: "Michael was disappointed he could not attend the party as he likes Hard Rock Cafe. He'd like to come down to the restaurant before he leaves the UK."
Michael Jackson came in UK to record his comeback single, "From the Bottom of my Heart", the charity song for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Mariah Carey, Missy Elliott, Mary J. Blige, R, Kelly, Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, Snoop Dogg, Lenny Kravitz, Jay-Z, Kenneth Babyface Edmonds and James Brown are among the celebrities that have already signed up for the song.
