French publisher Ubisoft has announced that the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the upcoming Michael Jackson: The Game will be delayed to an yet unspecified date in early 2011, while the Nintendo Wii, the DS and the PlayStation Portable versions of the title are set to still be launched during this year.

Those fans of the late King of Pop who are interested in getting their hands on a video game that allows them to step into their sparkling dance shoes will be able to get Michael Jackson: The Game on November 23 in North America and on November 25 in Europe and in Asia.

The delay for the Microsoft and the Sony home consoles is linked to the fact that the development teams need to tweak how the experience working on not yet released motion tracking hardware.

A spokesperson for Ubisoft told IGN that “We're giving our teams more time to develop the Kinect and Move versions to ensure we deliver awesome experiences that take full advantage of the new technologies.”

Michael Jackson: The Game is set to feature both dancing and singing, with players able to relieve some of the biggest moments in the career of the influential musician.

The training mode will allow players to practice moves that have become associated with Jackson and his back up dancing group and to make the experience as familiar as possible players will be introduced to scenes created using the music videos Jackson created.

Ubisoft has not released full details about Michael Jackson: The Game but it seems that the primary gameplay mode will center on dancing with singing only coming into play if the gamer is capable of doing both things at the same time.

Initial reports also suggested the Kinect and Xbox 360 version of the rhythm title will only allow one gamers to play at the same time while four friends can engage in multiplayer in the versions for the Wii and the PlayStation 3 plus Move.
