Michael Jackson was unable to make his father's 76th birthday. The 46-year-old pop star has posted a notice on his website telling fans he would not be going to the celebrations held in Berlin
His brother Jermain, who was in Berlin with Janet and La Toya, together with other family members for a weekend party to celebrate Joe Jackson's 76th birthday, told reporters that Michael was deeply affected by the child molestation trial.
"His case tore him apart mentally. He's very strong mentally, but he needs his rest right now," Jermaine Jackson said.
Hundreds of fans, many dressed as Michael Jackson, whom some of them had supported during the trial by flying to the US, marched to the Estrel hotel in Berlin to join in the party and wish Joe Jackson Happy Birthday.
