With all these rumors surrounding Michael Jackson's big comeback, people hardly know what to believe anymore. If you found all these too hard to swallow, here's another one to confuse you even more: Michael is back in the US and various media outlets report that he will be doing a concert on New Year's Eve in Sin City.
MJ arrived in Las Vegas over the weekend and people have already started talking about the reason that might have made him fall back on his word of never returning to a country where he was so wrongfully and unjustly treated. In June 2005, after he exited a California court of justice, where he was acquitted of charges of child molesting, the King of Pop vowed never to set foot on US land again.
And, yet, he left the Irish castle where he lived in isolation until now, flew to Las Vegas via private jet and went on a shopping spree at Caesars Palace. That much is sure. The rest, concerning the alleged comeback concert, is only hearsay, based on a statement made by Jack Wishna (the 'gaming dealmaker' who also courted the singer while he was on trial for a Vegas gig and who worked, until now, with stars such as Britney Spears and Celine Dion). The statement was later infirmed by a publicist for Jackson.
However, rumor goes that the pop superstar will join Celine Dion and Prince in a huge concert that will take place on the most important nights of the year, with Wishna promising fans that the King will thus finally return 'at the top of the tops', where he deserves to be.
The deal Jackson signed in Vegas is estimated at around $250 million and includes various projects, among which many concerts and a brand new album. All in all, if this turns out to be true, it will be a great move on his behalf, especially considering that, a couple of months ago, he was forced to delay his first material in a long time on account of having no label to release and promote it.
