Dr. Conrad Murray, the personal physician of late singer Michael Jackson, is now standing trial on the charge of involuntary manslaughter. Toxicology results confirmed that Michael passed away after a large quantity of the anesthetic Propofol was injected into his bloodstream, which was presumably the work of Dr. Murray. Nevertheless, for his defense in court, the doctor will use a different story, namely that Michael gave himself the lethal dose, TMZ has learned.

This is pure speculation at this point, but the aforementioned e-zine has it from very reliable inside sources that Dr. Murray will try to pin the blame on the one person who can’t possibly defend himself: and that person would be Michael. The doctor and his legal representative will try to convince a judge and jury that he gave the singer the appropriate amount of the drug and then left the room. In the meantime, Michael must have woken up and shot himself with more Propofol, which eventually killed him.

“The dose Dr. Murray administered would keep someone asleep for only 5 to 10 minutes, but the Propofol, along with the Ativan and Versed that was already in MJ’s system, had a synergistic effect that put Jackson to sleep for a longer period of time. For the next hour, Dr. Murray stayed in the room and was on the phone for much of the time. Dr. Murray didn’t leave the room to make the calls because MJ liked activity in the room, regularly sleeping with the lights on and cartoons blaring on the TV,” TMZ says of the possible strategy Murray might adopt in court.

“At around noon, Dr. Murray left the room for approximately two minutes to go to the bathroom. While he was gone, the defense believes Jackson suddenly awakened and was frustrated he had spent nearly 9 hours trying in vain to sleep. The defense theory – Jackson took the 20 ml bottle of Propofol and self-injected the remaining contents through the IV, causing a massive overdose that stopped his heart. Dr. Murray walked back in the room and saw Jackson with his eyes open and pupils dilated. Dr. Murray dropped the phone (he was speaking with his girlfriend) and began administering CPR,” the same report says.

Moreover, the defense will also try to argue that Michael was an addict and that Propofol was his drug of choice. Admittedly, Murrary’s attorney has inside people who can testify that the late King of Pop would constantly ask for larger doses, which would stand as proof that he was likely to get up and inject himself with what he may have considered a larger dose, without being aware he might be killing himself while doing so.
