It has been a long time since Michael Jackson has moved out of controversial Neverland, which has been renamed the Sycamore Valley Ranch, but whatever was inside it continues to fascinate the world. Soon enough, in April, fans will no longer wonder about Jackson’s possessions, as they will even have the chance to get their hands on one of the star’s prized belongings in an auction held by Julien’s Auctions in Beverly Hills.

Anything from Swarovski signature gloves to oil paintings showing the singer in Elizabethan dress and even his gold-interior Rolls Royce is included in a five-volume catalog in what is the first grand scale auction sanctioned by Michael himself. With price tags ranging from $100 for a tea kettle with wheels to $140,000 for the limo, if the sale is successful, then the singer stands to make a lot of money, several media reports are saying.

This is not, however, an attempt to make a quick buck to get out of financial troubles on behalf of Michael, it has been argued. With some of the proceedings going to MusiCares, a charity of The Recording Academy, it is believed that the singer is actually using this opportunity to give something back to the music industry, while also ridding himself of the many things that he has piled up throughout the years.

“Jackson has to be one of the wealthiest and most ego-driven packrats in the world. His childlike acquisitiveness manifests in his collection of video game machines, Disney art and Peter Pan memorabilia, and much of it bears his image in his prime. It’s an astonishing display of wealth without restraint. There’s something in nearly every price point, from small rhinestone brooches to elaborate pieces of art and statuary. Given the sheer amount of objects up for grabs Jackson could stand to make quite a tidy haul. Even the signed and numbered five-volume catalog sells for $500.” The Luxist tells about the impressive collection.

For those interested, Julien’s Auctions will also host a 7-day exhibition at 9900 Wilshire adjacent to The Beverly Hilton open to the public from April 14 to April 20, according to the aforementioned source. Surely, it is being maintained, all fans will find something to suit their liking. For a full gallery of the items included, please go here.
