I have a feeling Michael Jackson is not a very happy camper right about now. His empire of secrecy, mystery and... well, more secrecy is slowly crumbling to the ground, and what emerges is not pleasant, not nice, not even normal-sounding. It seems that the personal life of one of the world's biggest all-time superstars and best-selling pop artists was in fact a well-hidden pyramid of lies, deception and completely mind-boggling decisions and relationships. The Daily Mail just published a shocking interview with Debbie Rowe, the mother of two of Michael's children and the star's former wife, and I must admit that after I read it I felt chills going down my spine. What she states is that she effectively turned herself into a walking incubator for the benefit of the singer, and was dumped by him after her second pregnancy left her unable to conceive again.
Rowe is now living in a small, dusty town in the States breeding dogs and horses, and calmly talks to the reporters about her life as America's most famous surrogate mother. She seems unhappy that her two children's faces were unmasked, but other than insisting that "Michael and I are fine" she doesn't make much of an effort to pretend she actually cares about the infants who were reportedly taken straight from her arms in the maternity ward and carried off to Michael's Neverland ranch. "I don't need money" she states when asked about her relationship with her former husband. "Michael and I are fine. I see him and the kids all the time. They live in Las Vegas now, just a three-hour drive away". But we all know this isn't exactly the case.
"Of course it was artificial insemination. Paris was conceived in Paris, that's how she got her name. Michael wanted to call her Princess, but I thought that was stupid" she states when asked about the way her two children were conceived. And strangely enough, what Rowe seems to regret the most is not the fact that she willingly gave up custody rights to her kids, but that complications during her second pregnancy prevented her from giving Jackson more children. "I had so many problems when I was pregnant with Paris. After that I couldn't have any more children. Michael was upset about that, he couldn't understand it. He wanted more babies."
"I used to be an extrovert, but my marriage made me introverted. I was followed everywhere. I hated the fame. After I married Michael, it was hard to keep working. Staff at the clinic sold stories about me to the media. People were offered a million dollars for a picture of me pregnant. I even told my family to sell one; I thought they could do with the money. But they refused" she calmly recounts. "There are three stages in marriage. First it's puppy love, then it's for breeding purposes and then, if you can make it through all the bull***t, it's for companionship. I've done the breeding stage. I don't need the rest". I'm not sure there's more to add to this, really.
