Since today's disturbing news that actor Michael Jace was responsible for the violent killing of his wife in their home was mentioned in the press, there has been a lot of speculation as to what exactly could have caused such an outburst.

At the moment, the best guess we have is that the deep money troubles the family was in were taking their toll on the actor and this is what drove him to commit such a heinous act. Radar has obtained documents to indicate that the actor was over half a million dollars in debt at the time of the alleged killing, despite the fact that he had already declared bankruptcy back in 2011.

The fact that that actor wasn't bringing in enough money from his acting roles anymore weighed heavily on the family that was already severely behind on their monthly payments set up by the court once the bankruptcy was declared.

His debts included back taxes of over twenty thousand dollars and a default on their family home of over forty thousand additional dollars.

This is explained by the fact that the actor wasn't able to secure steady work since “The Shield” series came to an end in 2008 and the small parts he got here and there didn't pay enough for him to cover his expenses.

All of this could have put too much pressure on the struggling actor and push him over the edge into allegedly shooting his wife Jace in their family home in front of their two children. Ulterior reports indicate that Michael had a predisposition to violence, as shown by court documents from his divorce from his first wife.

At that time, his now dead wife, April Jace, testified in court that Michael was a good dad and husband, despite the fact that his former wife claimed he often displayed violent behavior and even chocked her once in front of their child.

A friend of the family testified that she had personally seen Michael choke his wife and slam her into a wall as their 6-month-old son wailed in a his crib next to them.

Yesterday, LAPD confirmed that they responded to a 911 call made by Jace himself and found the body of his dead wife in the house and gave the probable cause of death as gunshot wounds. The family's two children were taken away by police and sent to the home of a relative later for comfort and protection.
