Michael Fassbender has already proved he is incredibly versatile and talented (just watch him in “Shame,” “X-Men: First Class” and “Inglourious Basterds” if you don’t believe me), so perhaps it’s time to sink his teeth in a bit of Shakespeare as well.

IndieWire reports that he’s attached to a new big screen version of “Macbeth” now in the works – as lead, I assume.

“The actor is attached to a new version of Shakespeare's work that will be directed by the fast rising ‘Snowtown’ director, Justin Kurzel. Penned by Todd Louiso […], the story will be the same, set in the 11th century, and will be presented in the original dialogue,” the e-zine says.

“However, this version will be more ‘visceral’ and contain ‘significant battle scenes.’ And production is coming together pretty fast,” adds the same media outlet.

No other actors are attached to the project right now, but auditions are underway to find him a perfect Lady Macbeth.

Shooting is supposed to start later this year so, if that’s an accurate statement, they must hurry to find her.
