Michael Douglas’ Son Beaten in Jail for Being a Rat

Cameron Douglas is recovering from broken leg and finger after prison beatdown

Michael Douglas’ son Cameron made plenty of headlines a few years back, when he was trialed and convicted on drug charges, and sentenced to 9 and a half years in jail. He’s now recovering from a prison beatdown, which he reportedly got for being a “rat.”

The actor’s son is believed to be hospitalized for a broken leg and a broken finger, which he suffered after he got beat up in prison for being a “rat,” The Huffington Post reports.

“The 34-year-old is recovering from a broken leg and finger after a New York crime boss reportedly put a $100 bounty [€75.92] on his head,” the publication says.

“The hit is thought to be some form of payback for Douglas being a ‘rat,’ a title he may have earned after his psychiatrist accidentally revealed Cameron once testified against his drug suppliers,” HuffPo further writes.

According to an unnamed insider, Cameron told authorities that he was injured while playing handball, but the very nature of the fracture he sustained on his leg contradicts that.

“He broke his femur, which is hard to snap, and had to have a rod inserted. He told health services staff that he hurt them playing handball. You don’t break a femur playing handball,” the tipster says.

“Douglas is imprisoned for charges related to smuggling and selling drugs, including methamphetamine, heroin and prescription narcotics. The sentence was originally only five years, which increased after the troubled actor got caught smuggling heroin into prison,” HuffPo writes.

As we also reported some time back, after the original sentencing, Cameron’s father stood by his side throughout the whole thing, even calling the prison sentence a blessing in disguise: he was thinking that Cameron would stay out of trouble if he were behind bars.

For the time being, the legendary actor has not yet commented on his son’s injuries, neither to confirm nor deny the above report.
