Michael C. Hall and Daniel Radcliffe can be seen together in the drama “Kill Your Darlings,” out in select theaters today, October 17, 2013. Speaking of working together, Daniel says they had in common more than just their love of a good story.

The “Harry Potter” actor says they used to hang out a lot on set, in the middle of the street because they had no trailers. He can only imagine how people felt when they saw wizard boy Harry Potter and serial killer Dexter idly chatting.

“People were walking by and going, ‘Is that that Harry Potter guy and Dexter chatting over there?’ I do think we freaked a few people out but, I like to think we sort of run blocking for each other,” Daniel says.

And this brings us to how they related to each other: they’re both swimming against the current in that they (feel like they) have to prove they’re more than just their larger-than-life on-screen characters.

“He has a huge amount of attention for one thing. He probably gets called Dexter as much as I get called Harry Potter, so it's nice to just talk to him about that and see how he handles it, which is quite similar to mine. It doesn't really bother him. He's obviously very proud of Dexter, and I'm very proud of Harry Potter. But yeah, it's always nice to talk to somebody who's in a similar boat,” Daniel says.

I’d say that, at this point, both Daniel and Michael have long proved they’re more than just Harry and Dex.
