News of their decision to file for divorce came as a shock, since not a peep had been heard before about marital problems. After more than a year apart, it would seem that Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter are back together.

Since they’re both working on Showtime’s “Dexter” and especially considering they’re playing siblings on the show, at the time of the divorce, there was a lot of speculation on whether they’d be able to put their differences aside.

Not only did they do just that, but it would seem they even bonded again while working on the latest season of the show, the sixth.

The Daily Mail reports that Michael and Jennifer were spotted out for lunch the other day – their second date in less than a week.

As expected, speculation that they might be getting back together is picking up pace, considering that work on the show has wrapped for the time being and their divorce is officially final.

In other words, the Mail implies, they couldn’t possibly have any other reason for meeting in public than to discuss the possibility of reconciling.

“They finalized their divorce just over a month ago, but Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter have been spending an awful lot of time together lately. The Dexter co-stars looked cozy during a coffee date at Peet's in Los Angeles on Wednesday,” the British tab writes.

As per the same source, this was the second date Michael and Jennifer went on this past week. They were first spotted having a very romantic dinner at Beverly Hill's Peninsula Hotel on Tuesday night.

“Michael and Jennifer were seated at a dimly lit corner table, sipping wine. It was a very romantic setting and definitely looked like a date. When Jennifer got up to use the ladies, Michael squeezed her hand, looked up at her and she smiled,” an unnamed spy says of the date.

“When she got back, they held hands on the table for a bit. At one point, Michael leaned across the table and he and Jennifer kissed — a make-out kind of kiss, not a friendly one. They both looked really happy,” the eyewitness further says.

At the time they announced their decision to file for divorce, Michael and Jennifer didn’t state for the press a reason other than the traditional “irreconcilable differences.” They did say, though, that no party had been involved.
