When confirmation of a third “Bad Boys” film came
a few days ago, no one knew exactly whether director Michael Bay, the man who literally made Will Smith an action-movie star, would return. According to a recent post on his official
website, not only will he take the helm for the long overdue sequel, but he’s also hammering out the details for “Transformers 3.”
“Nelson here... I spoke to Michael [Bay] today and he had a little update on his future projects: He will be meeting later this week with Steven Spielberg, and Ehren Kruger to discuss ideas for Transformers 3. By the end of the week he should have an idea if Transformers 3 will hit your local cineplex in the summer of 2011 or 2012. In the meantime ‘Pain & Gain’ is looking very possible as is... Bad Boys 3. Either film coming to a theater near you before or after Transformers 3.” the update on Bay’s official website reads.
So, while Bay’s participation in “Bad Boys 3” is not one-hundred-percent confirmed, the fact that his own website says it’s likely means negotiations are going in the right direction, several movie-oriented publications point out. Moreover, if Bay returns to “Bad Boys,” then probably Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, the pair of actors that made the film such a hit at the box-office in the first place, thanks to wonderful chemistry they had onscreen, will also make a comeback, it is further being said.
As for “Transformers 3,” perhaps fans knew ever since “Revenge of the Fallen,” the second installment, came out that a third would follow suite. Even if lead female star Megan Fox is almost constantly
complaining in the media about Bay’s horrible manners and controlling ways on the set, she too will return, as the director himself said yesterday in a statement released in the actress’ defense.
“I don’t condone the crew letter to Megan. And I don’t condone Megan’s outlandish quotes. But her crazy quips are part of her crazy charm. The fact of the matter I still love working with her, and I know we still get along. I even expect more crazy quotes from her on Transformers 3.” Bay was
saying the other day in relation to an open letter posted on the website by three crew members, thrashing Megan Fox, whom they referred to as Ms. Princess,
“dumb as rock” Fox.
