There’s no longer any doubt that gorgeous Megan Fox’s star is now shining so brightly mainly because of her having been cast in the first “Transformers” film back in 2007. Now the hottest “commodity” in Hollywood, Fox has recently said of the sequel to it that it’s not really about acting, a comment director Michael Bay believes should not have been made, as The Sun informs.

The famous director, who can be credited with launching the career of many a star, both male and female, says Megan Fox is simply too young to realize the kind of good “Transformers” did to her acting career. In his own words, the actress should be grateful for having been given this amazing chance in the acting world and not talk smack of the film franchise that literally put her on the map – and made her one of the most sought after female stars of the moment.

“Well, that’s Megan Fox for you. She says some very ridiculous things because she’s 23-years-old and she still has a lot of growing to do. You roll your eyes when you see statements like that and think: ‘OK Megan, you can do whatever you want. I got it.’ Nobody in the world knew about Megan Fox until I found her and put her in ‘Transformers’.” Bay says of Megan’s comments as to how “Transformers” did not allow her to act as she would have probably liked.

At the same time, the director points out that starring in one of his blockbuster action films is a wonderful launching pad for any actor, which is why Fox should not be so quick in bashing “Transformers.” “I like to think that I’ve had some luck in building actors’ careers with my films. Nicolas Cage wasn’t a big actor when I cast him, nor was Ben Affleck before I put him in ‘Armageddon.’ Shia LaBeouf wasn’t a big movie star before he did ‘Transformers’ – and then he exploded. Not to mention Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, from ‘Bad Boys’.” Michael Bay adds.

Megan Fox has often hinted in the past that, while grateful for the many doors “Transformers” opened for her, she did not like to be known only for starring in it. As we were also telling you a while back, the actress believes that the franchise shows only about “seven percent” of her acting range because, as any star cast in a Michael Bay production (or fan for that matter) knows that when the director yells “Action!,” what you have to do is run. In all fairness, Megan Fox does do a lot of running in “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.”
