Miami Heat made their Eastern Conference first-round series against the Chicago Bulls seem like breakfast on Monday, when they beat the 90`s champions 115-108, to take a 2-0 lead in the series. The victory was the result of the great game by the O`Neill-Wade tandem. Shaq poured in 22 points and managed 3 blocks, while playmaker Dwane Wade had 21 points and 7 assists.
The tri-factor again proved to be the hand of Jason Williams. After managing a 17 points score in the first game, he scored 22 yesterday night, from which 17 only in the first half, making Bulls defense seem powerless. Going with a 20-point disadvantage into the 4th quarter (89-69), the Bulls
fought back and manage to cut the deficit to 4 points with only 1:15 minutes to go. Wade made it very simple though for the home team, scoring for Heat in their next attempt. Payton sealed the win with 2 free-throws, giving the home crowd something to celebrate.
"We feel good. We know what they're going to do. (Bulls coach) Scott Skiles is telling the world what they are going to do. If they are going to continue to double me, I'm going to keep picking them apart. I was actually looking forward to going to the line 30 or 40 times tonight", said O`Neill after the game.
On the other hand, Bulls found a great scorer in Kirk Hinrich, who managed 17 of his 29 points in the fourth period. It was not enough though, since Bulls defense did not manage to keep up with their leader. "I don't know what they shot, but we're a defensive team and should have had it on that end tonight. I really don't know how to explain it, except to say we weren't ready on that end", resumed the match Hinrich.
The series will move to Chicago for the next 2 games, starting Thursday.
