It's been a while since MiTAC released Mio A701, but the phone model still has a huge impact on the PDA phone market. Now, they are ready for a new release that is meant to maintain the interest and appreciation that the brand has received due to the previous one.

MiTAC A501 is the new Windows Mobile Pocket PC phone that comes packed with Windows Mobile 5.0 AKU 3.5. It may not have 3G or WiFi connectivity, but it offers GPS support, which turns out to be extremely useful in many situations. Furthermore, this phone also has to give EDGE data and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity.

This GPS PDA phone has plenty neat features to offer. It comes equipped with a 2.0 Megapixel camera that is also capable of video recording. One of the most impressive aspects of this phone is its 2.7 inch screen with a resolution of 240 x 320. What makes it so special, besides its impressive size, is that it has color transreflective TFT and touchscreen sensitivity.

Actually, the phone is a small computer with a processor of 201 Mhz, 64 RAM memory capacity and 128 ROM memory available. Even more interesting is the built-in GPS that provides fast and reliable tracking of the user's position on a generated map.

Mio Technology is an important developer of mobile products and services. Since their release of the first GPS-integrated PDA in 2003, they have experienced fast development. They currently have companies in several important countries around the world.

The MiTAC A501 Digi-Walker will be available for buying starting with June for the price of USD 675.
