Metroid Prime Glitches (GameCube)

As in previous Metroid games, Metroid Prime takes place in a large open-ended world with different regions connected by elevators. Each region has an entire set of rooms separated by doors that can be opened with a shot from the correct beam. The game is different from previous games in the series because of its use of first-person view as opposed to side-scrolling, being the first in the series to do so. The protagonist Samus must travel through the world searching for power-ups that enable her to reach previously unaccessible areas - such as the Varia Suit that takes away damage caused by heat - and 12 Chozo Artifacts that will open the way to the Phazon meteor impact
crater.

It is the first Metroid game to address the absence of the previous game's power-ups. Samus starts with them, but they are all lost during an explosion in the Space Pirate ship. Metroid Prime also has a "Hint System" that provides the player with a general idea of where to go, such as indicating "Seismic activity" in a certain room. This was very contrary to the previous games in the series, which feature no hints or direction whatsoever. It can however be turned off via an options menu.

Glitches

Frozen Omega Pirate without a Stasis Chamber
When you enter the Omega Pirate's stasis chamber room for the boss fight (it's for getting the Phazon Suit) switch to your Scan Visor. Now lock onto the Omega pirate and walk to his left, start scanning him and walk toward him until a Cinema screen appears. When the movie screen appears press start to skip this little movie. You should see him without the stasis chamber around him. This gives you the Chance to Blow off one of his Shoulder/Knee pads before he even wakes up.

Space Jump Boots Early: PAL and NAPC
Unlike the NTSC version of this glitch, you cannot execute a dash jump via Scan Visor. Instead, head to the Temple Access (the room visible when you are finished saving on your ship). Lock on to the first Seedling and back up. Without letting your lock on reticule pass the door connecting the Landing Site with Temple Access, head back to your ship and carefully position yourself on the rear right thruster on the ship. Now, execute a dash jump (dash right, off of the ship and let go of L when the dash is executed) and continue to the Alcove.

Suicidal Wall Metroids
First, get a metroid latched onto you. Next, lay a bomb and position yourself next to a wall, so that when the metroid is dislodged, it gets stuck in the wall. Wait a couple of seconds and the metroid should simply explode. This is particularly useful against the Fission Metroids, especially when low on Power bombs.
