MetroPCS Communications, Inc. announced on Wednesday that it would offer its users unlimited calling to select locations in Mexico for $3 a month. The company, which already offers unlimited, flat-rate, no signed contract wireless communications services, plans to allow its users to make unlimited calls to over 200 landline destinations in Mexico, as well as unlimited SMS text messages to four major Mexican cellular carriers – America Movil (Telcel), Telefonica (Movistar), Nextel Mexico and Iusacell – without charging additional fees.

“Unlimited calling to Mexico at such an affordable rate is yet another example of MetroPCS’ commitment to providing exceptional value to consumers in today’s tough economic climate,” said Roger D. Linquist, president, chief executive officer and chairman of the board of MetroPCS. “Nearly 60 percent of Hispanics living in the United States are of Mexican descent, and this unlimited calling plan will help keep them connected with their family, friends and loved ones at an affordable rate.”

As many of you might already know, MetroPCS offers a variety of wireless service plans, giving users the possibility to talk at all times, while also providing leveraged service options, delivering this way an enhanced wireless experience, while not requiring a contract, as users will pay for the services per month and not per minute. The company's plan rates of $35, $40, $45 and $50 will also include unlimited calling to Mexico for only $3 more a month. In addition, MetroPCS offers users who purchase a phone from it a free first month of service, while no activation fees or other charges are required.

Among the plans that MetroPCS makes available for its customers we can also count unlimited family plans and MetroPCS Unlimited NationwideSM, offering them the option to use their service in more than 4,600 cities and towns in the continental United States. MetroPCS’ current $45 and $50 service plans include this option, and users who benefit from other qualified service plans can also enjoy it for $5 per month. Those who would like to learn more about the company's offerings, or to sign up for a plan or purchase a handset from MetroPCS can do so by accessing its official website or by visiting any of MetroPCS’ current authorized dealer locations.

I guess that's very cool that metro pcs is thinking how to help to the economy doing things like the unlimited call to mexico but they should expand the service to the mexican and country and canada too with the same services as in the us...
That will help a lot more and keep in touch to the people we love
