Wireless carrier MetroPCS Communications, Inc. has just announced the launch of its 4G LTE services in the Tampa metropolitan area, complemented by the availability of Samsung Galaxy Indulge for the carrier's customers in this market. The device was launched a few months ago as the first commercially available 4G LTE capable smartphone that would run under Google's Android operating system.

The handset is available for purchase from the wireless carrier on MetroPCS 4G LTE service plans that run from $50 to $60 a month, without the need to commit to a lengthy contract agreement.

“As we have built-out our 4G LTE service across the nation, we continue to be dedicated to making our customers' lives easier by providing them with feature-rich smartphones that let them do more on our network,” said Roger D. Linquist, president, CEO and chairman of MetroPCS.

“The Samsung Galaxy Indulge offers the total package, allowing consumers to manage every aspect of their lives from their mobile phone, using the latest Android technology and our MetroPCS 4G LTE service.”

With Samsung Galaxy Indulge, MetroPCS' customers can enjoy unlimited talk, text and 4G LTE web browsing in all areas where the carrier offers coverage.

The mobile phone was made available for purchase in-store or online with a price tag of $299 attached to it, after a $100 mail-in rebate, plus tax.

The smartphone comes with a 3.5" brilliant touchscreen display, complemented by a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, so that users would be able to text or email at ease.

The handset also comes with seven homescreens for increased personalization options, as well as with full access to Google Mobile services, including Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail and YouTube.

Moreover, the mobile phone comes with a 4GB microSD memory card packed inside, preloaded with the action film IRONMAN 2, produced by Paramount Pictures.

With the new device, users can enjoy:

The launch of MetroPCS' 4G LTE services in Tampa brings the new enhanced speeds to all of MetroPCS's metropolitan areas, including Atlanta, Boston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Detroit, Jacksonville, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Orlando, Philadelphia, Sacramento and San Francisco.
