In case you're wondering what the revamped versions of the two Metro games look like on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and more specifically, how they compare to each other from a visual point of view, then you're in luck.

An in-depth analysis of the game's graphic performance from Digital Foundry, complete with an interview with Oles Shishkovstov, developer 4A Games' chief technical officer, sheds more light on the improvements that the team worked so hard to achieve.

The face-off videos put the last-gen versions of Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light in a side-by-side comparison with the next-gen editions, showing a significant increase in visual fidelity, but both Sony's and Microsoft's newer iterations seem to be pretty evenly matched.

Metro Redux bundles together the 2010 hit story-driven first-person shooter Metro 2033 along with its sequel Metro: Last Light, and improves the two of them a lot (especially the first one), delivering them on next-gen consoles in 1080p resolution on the PS4 and in 912p on the Xbox One, running at 60 frames per second.

Metro Redux is available as a digital download and will also be released in retail on August 29, for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One platforms.
