Former THQ President Jason Rubin shared with gamers the harsh conditions under which 4A Games, the developer behind the new Metro: Last Light shooter, created the game and highlighted just how good of a job the Ukrainian studio did with the new title.

Metro: Last Light was a joint project between 4A and THQ but, after the bankruptcy of the publisher, Deep Silver acquired the rights and helped release the shooter this week around the world.

Jason Rubin, THQ's president, shared a few interesting details about 4A's situation with GamesIndustry when he worked together with the studio last year.

According to him, 4A's headquarters was in a very small building and equipment couldn't even be purchased, as it needed to be smuggled in from Poland so that customs officers didn't confiscate them.

The team worked in terrible conditions due to Kiev's infrastructure but the studio managed to deliver a great experience with Metro: Last Light, according to Rubin.
