One of the leading developers working on Metro: Last Light says that the multiplayer component of the game will be launched one year after the single-player package and will be similar to an Xbox Live Arcade experience.

Andrew Prokhorov, the game's creative director, was speaking as part of an interview that has been translated by a fan forum.

It’s unclear exactly how Metro’s multiplayer modes will be structured and whether the team will offer it for free to those who pick up Last Light on launch.

Metro: Last Light will be launched on May 14 in the United States and three days later in Europe, on the PlayStation 3 from Sony, the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and the PC.

The game has also been confirmed as coming to the PlayStation 4 from Sony later in the year.
