Huw Beynon, a producer working on the upcoming Metro: Last Light, says that the first-person shooter created by 4A Games is the best-looking game that will be delivered during 2013, both on home consoles and on the PC.

The executive tells Eurogamer that, “I firmly believe that the PC version of Metro: Last Light is one of, if not the best looking game you can actually buy, period, at the moment. We’re still proud of how we’ve managed to adapt that for the current generation of consoles.”

He adds, “If someone asks me are we doing a next-gen version – well, yes we are. It’s the PC. We’re one of the few studios out there that have a proven piece of tech that’s built for high-end PCs.”

4A Games are using their own proprietary engine to create Metro: Last Light and the game is expected to build on the already impressive quality of its predecessor, with bigger vistas and better quality.

Metro: Last Light is a first-person shooter that uses a post-apocalyptic setting where Earth was struck by an unknown catastrophe.

Survivors have retreated to the underground network of Moscow and are now slowly emerging from their hiding places in order to explore the devastated surface and battle mutated enemies.

4A Games promises to deliver another atmospheric experience with an interesting story and deep combat mechanics.

Metro: Last Light is set to launch on the PC, the PlayStation 3 from Sony and the Xbox 360 from Microsoft.

Recent comments make it pretty clear that the PC version of the game is the one to buy for those looking for the best graphics quality possible.

The game was originally set to be published by THQ, but once the company went bankrupt, Deep Silver picked up the property and its developer.
