The leaked Windows 8.1 build that reached the web less than 24 hours ago comes with many changes, including a revised Calendar app that’s supposed to be part of the RTM version too.

As you can see in this screenshot, Microsoft has introduced the so-called “What’s Next” feature that provides users with a quick glimpse into future appointments.

The company hasn’t yet publicly announced such an update, but given the fact that we’re very close to the official launch of the RTM build, expect it to be prepared for the stable version of the OS too.

Windows 8.1 is projected to go RTM as soon as this month, while general availability is expected to be announced later this year.

A report that came out today claims that Microsoft might actually wait until mid-October to release Windows 8.1, as it wants to work on existing bugs and improve the overall performance of the OS update.
