The sequel to THQ's post-apocalyptic first person shooter, Metro 2033, was announced by Danny Bilson during the 2010 edition of the Electronic Entertainment Expo. The game will be called Metro 2034 and available in 3D, mainly because of the low operation costs of the development studio located in Kiev, Ukraine.

“We're going to be doing a 3D version of that on Metro 2034 - the sequel. And there will be some engineering costs there, but that's in our lowest cost centre in the world. Those games are unbelievably reasonable, they're built in Kiev,” Bilson told CVG at E3. 4A Games is the developer of Metro 2033 and was formed by a team that left GSG Game World, the creators of the critically acclaimed S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series.

“Some people were confused about why we'd go into a market where there's only one percent TVs," he added about the current state of the 3DTV adoption rate. "It's about a great game and a plus up on the marketing side. We're there at low risk and high quality, but, again, we'll have to see how that market grows and what value is there.” Metro 2033 fans should not be disappointed, as new content for Metro 2033 is coming soon. The Ranger Pack downloadable content will be available for the PC and the Xbox 360 versions and will add two fresh weapons, the Volt Driver and the Heavy Automatic Shotgun, plus achievements. In addition, a game mode called Ranger will arrive, reducing the amount of ammunition and dramatically increasing the damage of the weapons, making the players as well as their enemies much deadlier. There will also be a Hardcore option for the Ranger Mode that will completely remove the HUD.
