Only yesterday, people in England and Wales got to see a green fireball flashing over their heads.

This fireball was actually a meteor which specialists believe was made up of debris left behind by Halley's Comet.

According to Mirror, the meteor made its appearance around 9:45 p.m. local time.

As was to be expected, some assumed that what they were seeing was an UFO. However, most people realized that they were observing one very cool meteor.

“I have just seen the biggest meteor in my life! It was also noticeably green, and appeared very large compared to regular meteors I've seen,” Suzy Buttress, of Basingstoke in Hampshire reportedly tweeted.

Specialists agree that the meteor was indeed a tad bigger than most others that have thus far been reported in these regions.

By the looks of it, the meteor first appeared in Britain's south east and then gradually made its way towards the north west.
