Axl Rose and Guns N’Roses fans were more than thrilled in November 2008, when the highly anticipated and much talked about album “Chinese Democracy” was finally released, after so many years in the making. The same fans were equally psyched about learning that none other than Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich would make a special appearance in the first video off it, namely “Better.”

The announcement was initially made in December, saying that the “Better” video would debut worldwide in a matter of weeks. However, it was quickly refuted by Guns associate Fernando Lebeis, who said that the reason for the hold-up was Lars himself, as he had to sign a release for it to be made public. Lars, on his part, is now saying that, whatever the reason for the delay, it’s not him who’s stalling things.

“I have heard about this, yes.” Ulrich said about the rumors that pinned him as responsible for the delay. “There was a couple of clips of me in the video and they asked if I would sign off on it. When it got to me, I signed off on the one clip… I don’t know where [the rumor] came from. I’d love to be in a Guns n’ Roses video. It’s my favorite song on the record – I think it’s a great song.” Lars explained.

Moreover, not only is Lars unaware of what may be behind the “Better” video delay, but he’s also just as eager as fans of the band for it to come out. “I can’t wait for the video to come out. There’s a shot of me and Axl embracing backstage at some concert, and I signed off that, and hopefully it’ll make it in the final cut.” Lars told BlabberMouth.

“Better” is the second single off “Chinese Democracy.” At this point, fans are only hoping that Axl, known for taking his time when it comes to a project of more importance, will not go about this video as he did with the album, which was not only many, many years in the making, but also ate up approximately $10 million in investments, as several industry insiders claim.
