Music games have become the bread and butter for quite a lot of game developers and publishers out there, because they provide a variety of profit options – from the actual retail sales of the game to the peripherals that are needed to play it and, most importantly, the post-release paid DLC lineup that offers owners of the game new ways for them to spend their money.

After the recent release of Rock Band 2 for the Nintendo Wii, the team at Harmonix announced that the Wii Music Store would slowly but surely be filled with tracks that have already been released on the bigger consoles, the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

After last week's nearly simultaneous release of the Stevie Ray Vaugh pack for all the consoles, this week the Wii version will get some tracks from the back catalog, which other console owners have already been rocking out to. The tracks include songs from legendary bands Metallica, Kiss or Sonic Youth. Standard pricing is used, meaning that players will be able to download what track they want for 2 dollars or 200 Wii Points. Here's the complete tracklist:

Metallica - "Blackened" Metallica - "Ride the Lighting" Radiohead - "My Iron Lung" Wolfmother - "Joker & the Thief" KISS - "Calling Dr. Love" David Bowie - "Moonage Daydream" The Clash - "Train in Vain" Sonic Youth - "Kool Thing" Garbage - "Why Do You Love Me" Drive By Truckers - "3 Dimes Down" Lucinda Williams - "Can't Let Go" Neko Case - "People Got a Lotta Nerve" Old 97s - "Time Bomb" Steve Earle - "Satellite Radio"

So there you have it, Wii rockers, Harmonix has prepared a very interesting lineup for you to test your music skills and have fun along with your friends and family. Up until now it has been very clear that the Wii is a very important platform for the team behind Rock Band so the high-quality DLC won't stop here. Look forward to new tracks in the following weeks.
