Popular themes from video games of old have often seen modern adaptations, mainly due to the fact that they are such an integral part of our culture.

As remixes of popular songs and other types of artistic media are becoming increasingly more present in our lives, we start stumbling upon various gems where talent and creativity merge in order to make something truly unique.

Such is the case of the 17-minute medley of classic video game metal covers below, going through 38 different themes from all across the history of gaming and delivering them in a re-imagined form, from Pong and Space Invaders, going through The Legend of Zelda and Super Mario Bros, all the way to The Sims, World of Warcraft, Fallout 3, and Dark Souls 2.

The medley was put together by YouTube user FamilyJules7x, who noted that the metal tribute to the history of video games took him three years of work to create, and urged listeners to look up all the brilliant composers featured in the video and listen to their other work too.

"I knew that if I were to do something big for the end of this year, it would have to literally be beyond me and my potential and this medley was just that," the creator noted.
