Publisher Konami has confirmed that the PC version of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will be released on Steam on December 18, as previously rumored.

The PC edition of the stealth-based action-adventure video game will ship with a bunch of improvements over its predecessors on consoles. Among the technical bumps, Konami has revealed an increase in the number of simultaneous light sources supported by the engine, as well as in the number of models that can be displayed on screen at any one time.

Furthermore, those with hefty rigs will also be able to enjoy sneaking around in 4K resolution, which will render the game in four times as many pixels as the golden 1080p standard of today.

For the time being, the company has not revealed any details regarding the game's pricing. The December 18 launch date was previously leaked by Russian media outlets, following a local Konami press event.

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is available on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One consoles.

The video game functions as Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain's standalone prologue, meant to showcase some of the new features in the action-adventure title ahead of its launch, sometime in 2015.
