Metal Gear Solid Touch Released for iPhone, iPod touch

Konami has made good on its promise to release Metal Gear Solid Touch for iPhone and iPod touch, a stripped down version of the PlayStation 3 title, MGS 4: Guns of the Patriots. Gameplay is handled via a multi-touch interface, with the player being able to slide a finger for aiming, use gestures for zooming in and out, and tap for firing weapons and perform actions.

Despite the company’s prior indication that it would offer a special “advance release” edition of the game, Konami has released Metal Gear Solid Touch for the iPhone and iPod touch with only “a passing reference” to its lite-release, iLounge points out. From the iTunes App Store, the game's description goes as follows (excerpts):
