Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain has received a firm 2015 launch period, as confirmed by creator Hideo Kojima, as well as two new videos, one showcasing a cutscene with Quiet and Snake, and another one revealing actual gameplay with Snake in action.

Metal Gear Solid 5 is such a massive undertaking that developer Kojima Productions and publisher Konami decided to release first a prologue, in the form of Ground Zeroes, and are now focusing on The Phantom Pain, which is set to debut in the near future.

At Tokyo Games Show 2014, creator Hideo Kojima stepped forward to confirm that The Phantom Pain was going to launch in 2015, quelling any rumors about a late 2014 debut.

What's more, Kojima also brought forth two fresh videos with Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, showcasing both a cutscene and a gameplay portion of the new game.

First up, there's the full cutscene that shows brand new character Quiet interact with Snake on the Diamond Dogs base, confirming that not only can she use the OctoCamo, but also hold her ground in front of the mercenaries.

Secondly, there's the gameplay video that shows off Snake on a new mission from The Phantom Pain campaign, so you can actually see what's possible in the new tactical espionage game.

The new title is set to launch on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
