Konami has revealed that it's going to release a special demo of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles in North America and Europe sometime in January.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is out in January for the PS3 and Xbox 360, but those interested in the game can only try it out if they got the Zone of the Enders HD Collection.

After releasing a region-locked demo in Japan this month, Konami has now told Joystiq that it's going to release a trial version of Revengeance in other regions, like North America and Europe, sometime in January.

In case you forgot, the demo offers a virtual reality training mission in which Raiden slices his way through a watermelon and an actual quest in which he battles a giant mechanized dog with a chainsaw for a tail.

No other details about the demo are known, but you can expect the trial to appear ahead of the game's actual launch on February 19, in North America, and February 22, in Europe, for the PS3 and Xbox 360.
