Countdown reset

The timer featured on the Konami teaser page related to the next Metal Gear game has reached the end of its countdown. And it has revealed a new one, which is set for 120 hours.

But the content on the site has been changed a little and apparently those who looked at it closer were able to discern the message ‘5@E3,’ which is solid indication that a big reveal is planned by Konami and Kojima for the E3 trade show that takes place at the beginning of June in Los Angeles.

The overall thunder and lightning theme of the site also suggests that Raiden, which has made previous appearances in the Metal Gear videogames, might be a protagonist in the next game. Of course, nothing is clear at the moment and Konami is probably enjoying teasing gamers as it gets ready to announce something officially.

Those who like the Metal Gear series might also start learning Japanese or contact a good translator, as it seems that the new issues of the Famitsu magazine are set to also feature some pages on Metal Gear. The issues that arrive on stands on May 30 are said to contain a few pages on the new game, probably with details that gamers are really interested in, like the setting, the characters who will be in it or the time frame in which it will take place.

Another rumor doing the rounds of the Internet is that the upcoming announcement for a new Metal Gear is related to a port of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for the Xbox 360, which should bear the name Oxide and represent the big announcement Microsoft will be making at E3. We’ll just have to wait and, by June 4, all will be revealed.
